“We urged the corporation authorities to take immediate measures to ensure that water is supplied regularly to all households,” Dhanalakshmi said. Residents alleged that drinking water had not been supplied properly for the past several days, causing severe hardship to households. Upon receiving information about the agitation, corporation commissioner Lalith Adithya Neelam rushed to the spot and held talks with the protesters. During the interaction, a group of women surrounded the commissioner and pressed for immediate action to resolve the water shortage. The commissioner assured the residents that necessary steps would be taken to streamline water supply and address the issue at the earliest. Following the assurance, the protesters dispersed peacefully. Download the TOI App.
