Addressing the INDIA bloc’s Save Democracy rally, Danam said he was fully prepared

The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Hyderabad : Former MLA Danam Nagender on Thursday challenged BRS working president KT Rama Rao to contest the proposed Khairatabad bypoll against him, declaring that he was ready for an electoral showdown and asking KTR to “settle the score” in the constituency.

Addressing the INDIA bloc’s Save Democracy rally, Danam said he was fully prepared for the bypoll and threw an open challenge to KTR to enter the fray. Danam said he had built his own political identity over the years and described himself as a “brand” in Khairatabad. He asserted that he would emerge victorious and said the bypoll would provide voters an opportunity to deliver their verdict on the govt’s performance. Danam questioned the authority of the CEC to take away people’s voting rights and said nobody had the right to undermine the franchise guaranteed to citizens.

Calling the election a referendum on the performance of the Congress govt, he expressed confidence in retaining public support.
