The 2.0 update adds a new map, enemies, weapons, items, and an Outpost, plus a revamped Skill Tree, a new Reward Pass system, and changes to gameplay, maps, and progression. Frozen Trail is available from October 8, and the developers describe the update as the game’s biggest since launch. Frozen Trail adds 100 Furniture Designs, including designs found on Topside, those unlocked by upgrading the Outpost and some tied to the Frozen Trail Pass and DLC. The first new pass is the Frozen Trail Pass, which has 60 levels across Free and Premium tracks. The Snap Hook has also been adjusted: its range is reduced from 20 metres to 18 metres, durability consumption increased from 2% to 4% per use, and power cost raised from 50 to 60. The maximum Stash Size has been increased by two levels, reaching 328 slots without Expedition bonuses or additional Nomadic Envoy space. Riven Tides has also received an approximately 15% increase in overall loot value. The game has also been upgraded to AMD FSR 4.1.1. Arc Raiders players can also earn new Twitch Drops between October 8 and November 4 by watching participating streams. Watch for 60 minutes to unlock the Oxygen Respirator, and 120 minutes to unlock the Mailbox.
The developers said the weapon’s versatility let it perform above its rarity level, while keeping its existing gameplay and power. The developers said the changes are intended to give players more meaningful choices when building their characters. Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update is now live. The update also increases the maximum stash size and introduces Weapon Stencils, giving players more ways to customise their gear. Alongside the new content, the patch includes a long list of balance changes, bug fixes, performance improvements and other gameplay adjustments. The biggest addition in the Frozen Trail update is Pendola Pass, a new map that also introduces a Dynamic Loot Zone system. Under this system, loot value in certain areas can change from one raid to another. An area’s loot type will remain the same, meaning Residential areas will continue to provide Residential loot. However, one area could offer more value in one raid and less in another, making loot routes less predictable. The update also adds new map conditions called Frigate and Redirection, though the patch notes don’t provide further details. Frozen Trail adds three new enemies: Bully, Skulker and Hydra. The update also introduces two new weapons, Bantam and Stiletto, alongside Amplified Weapons. The Anvil has also been moved from Green to Blue rarity. The Bantam now takes its place as the uncommon hand cannon. The Anvil Splitter has also been changed from a mod into an upgrade option for the Amplified Anvil. The update adds a new Outpost that players can unlock by completing a project. Players must accept the relevant quest and bring a camera to complete the process. Once unlocked, players can expand the Outpost with different modules and access a new Research Bench. Players can also collect Furniture Designs and use them to craft furniture. The Raider Skill Tree has been reworked with new skills, changes to existing skills and a reshuffled layout. The middle sections of each branch now offer a binary choice between two skills, and players can select one and change it after resetting the Skill Tree. At the end of each branch, players can choose up to two skills from a set of three once they reach the required skill-point investment. Frozen Trail also introduces the Reward Pass, a new progression system that replaces the previous Raider Deck system. Cred has been removed and replaced with Reward Points, which are automatically applied to the pass a player selects. We’ve moved the existing Raider Decks to a Legacy Pass, where all unlocked rewards will remain intact. Players can choose the Legacy Pass and keep progressing in it, but they can only have one Reward Pass at a time. We’ve also made some changes to the Feats, which are now divided into three types: Easy, Medium, and Hard Feats. The update adds several other items, including the Grappling Hook, Basic and Advanced Cameras, Tether Launcher, Yank Grenade, Mountaineer’s Detector, Banjo and Harmonica. Players can now drop loot directly from containers, open the map while downed and scramble up steep slopes for a short time while sprinting. The Heavy Shield has also received changes to durability decay and movement penalties. The update removes Solo vs. Squads from matchmaking while the developers reassess its role. Explosive damage has also been reworked: explosive weapons deal more damage against ARC armour plates but less against weaker parts. Several maps have received lighting, texture, collision and performance improvements. The update further includes fixes for animation, audio, UI, VFX, social features, quests and crashes. There are 14 stencils in total: five exclusive to the Frozen Trail Premium Pass, one tied to DLC, and eight available to find Topside. Players can now customise compatible weapons with Weapon Stencils. Applying a stencil requires Stencil Parts, which you can also find Topside.
