Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh cabinet is slated to meet on Friday to consider more than 30

The cabinet is also expected to review a sustainable aviation fuel policy and proposals to strengthen public transport systems in 18 major cities, including Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Bareilly, Firozabad, Ghaziabad and Gorakhpur. Agriculture-related items on the agenda include a proposal to raise the minimum support price for paddy during the current kharif marketing season. The cabinet is also likely to consider approval of an MSP policy framework for other grains such as maize, bajra and jowar. A separate policy aims to mandate that govt departments procure a portion of their requirements from start-ups, with the stated objective of boosting MSMEs and the start-up ecosystem.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh cabinet is slated to meet on Friday to consider more than 30 proposals, including a plan to rename the carpet hub of Bhadohi as Sant Ravidas Nagar, sources said. The proposed change is among a set of decisions the govt is expected to weigh ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. On the welfare front, the cabinet is expected to take up a proposal to provide an additional sari to over 1.80 lakh anganwadi workers. Another proposal seeks to extend benefits to around 1.90 lakh PM Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries under a state scheme offering two free LPG refills annually, timed before Diwali and Holi.
