New Delhi: The women’s wing of Delhi BJP Thursday protested near Indira Bhavan, the Congress headquarters on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg, against Rahul Gandhi ’s alleged misbehaviour with women police personnel Tuesday and Wednesday.

Singh said there was a place for disagreement in a democracy but raising a hand against women police personnel and insulting them was unacceptable. MLA Shikha Roy said insulting the uniform was an insult to the nation and the women’s wing would fight for the dignity of women. Led by Delhi BJP general secretary Yogita Singh, other office-bearers, MLAs and councillors gathered at the Andhra Bhavan red light on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg and raised slogans as they proceeded towards the Congress headquarters via Bal Bhawan Marg. On the way, police formed a human barricade and stopped the protesters. The women workers then staged a sit-in at the spot. Police later warned them and allowed them to leave. She warned that the women’s wing would intensify its agitation if such behaviour continued. Calling the alleged misbehaviour shameful, BJP has demanded an apology from Rahul and Congress. Delhi Congress did not respond to the allegations.
