The cabinet cleared the use of 6.8 acres for a water body as part of the expansion. The land, adjoining the existing museum complex, will be transferred by the LDA to the tourism department for a token payment of Rs 1 lakh.

Tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh said the initiative aims to make history, science and technology more engaging for younger visitors, while also supporting local employment and tourism-linked businesses.
