Dr Vijay Amritra said that selling meat in the open and failing to install curtains were direct violations of regulations. The campaign was conducted on the instructions of municipal commissioner Himanshu Nagpal. It was led by joint municipal commissioner and Varunapar zone zonal officer Jitendra Anand, along with veterinary and welfare officer Dr Vijay Amritraj. During the inspection, several permanent meat shops were found operating without the curtains required under the rules, leaving the meat visible from outside. Unsanitary conditions were also found around the shops. He added that challans had been issued to eight shops in the Andhrapul area and that the campaign would continue to ensure cleanliness and compliance with rules across the city.
