Kochi : Women and child development minister Bindu Krishna said that strong action will be taken against the culprits in the incident where a young woman who came seeking a job at a spa in Kalamassery was brutally tortured and raped. The minister was speaking on Saturday after visiting the survivor who is undergoing treatment at Govt Medical College Hospital, Ernakulam, and assured legal and psychological support to the young woman.
Strict action will be ensured against those who lured her in by offering a job opportunity and brutally attacked her,” Krishna said. She said that even as the actions against drugs continue strongly, the fact that some who are part of it still remain in the shadows must be viewed seriously. Uncompromising action must be taken against those who exploit women under the guise of job offers,” she said.
“Although the survivor is recovering her physical health, she is in severe psychological trauma. The minister also made it clear that govt will not let the culprits off the hook under any circumstances. Govt measures, including the anti-drug drive, Operation Toofan, are proceeding strongly. “Govt will ensure a situation where women can seek jobs and work safely.
