Kanpur: A 27-year-old man was admitted to Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Hospital in critical condition after allegedly jumping off a two-storey building in Wajidpur, Kanpur, on Friday evening, police said.
The man, Vikas Kumar, had been under mental stress after losing his two brothers within six months, his family told police. The incident took place in the Jajmau police station area and is under investigation.
Jajmau police station in-charge Sanjay Pandey said the matter is being investigated.
Farmer Ramshankar Kumar, his son Govind Kumar had hanged himself at home around six months ago, while another son, Aman Kumar, died after falling from a two-storey roof, according to Vikas’s father. Hearing screams, neighbours rushed over and helped the family take him to hospital. He was later shifted to LLR Hospital after his condition turned critical.
Family members said Vikas came home after working at a tannery on Friday and went up to the roof before suddenly jumping.
