Kolkata: Sealdah division of Eastern Railway conducted a coordination meeting with the state police, Kolkata Traffic Police and GRP on Saturday on crowd management and security arrangement during puja.

About 270 retired servicemen would be engaged to boost security measures. The parking area outside Sealdah station would remain closed from Oct 15 to Oct 21 (Panchami to Dashami). They reviewed passenger entry and exit plans, holding areas, platform segregation and deployment of cops, said a senior cop. A railway official said subways would be kept clear. “We have also urged cops to remove vendors from subway entry point, during the puja days,” he added.
