Varanasi: A 13-year-old daughter of a public toilet operator was raped by a 45-year-old auto mechanic in a locality under Chowk police station on Sunday evening. Police arrested the accused and sent the girl for medical examination.
Acting on the complaint of her family, police lodged an FIR under POCSO and relevant sections of BNS, he said, adding that following evidence collection, a team led by station in-charge VK Shukla arrested the accused, Dulare Ansari (45), of Devli Gali in Dashashwamedh, late on Sunday night. On finding her alone, Ansari dragged her to a room near a public toilet around 4 pm and raped her. It came to light that due to the activities of Ansari, his sons and other family members had already separated from him years ago.
Following overnight interrogation, police said important details were obtained from the accused. The minor rape survivor informed police that her father had gone for some work. ACP, Dashashwamedh, Atul Anjan Tripathi on Monday said that immediately after the incident of sexual assault on the minor girl was reported, Chowk police reached the spot on Sunday and rushed the girl for medical examination.
