Pakistan youngster Maaz Sadaqat made a significant jump, moving from outside the top 100 to 45th after his performances in the three-match series against Sri Lanka. Australia’s 214-run win over South Africa in the first Test at Kingsmead in Durban also led to gains for several players in the latest ICC Test rankings. Australia won the opening match of the three-Test series, with Matthew Renshaw earning Player of the Match honours.
Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan sits between them in third after reaching a career-best rating following his performances against Sri Lanka, the ICC said in a press release. India T20I captain Shreyas Iyer has climbed three places to a career-best fourth in the latest ICC T20 International rankings for batters after his strong start to the ongoing five-match home series against the West Indies. Iyer scored his maiden T20I century in the series opener in Lucknow. His rise to fourth place means India now have three players among the top four, with Ishan Kishan at the top and Abhishek Sharma in second place.
Renshaw scored 190 in the first innings and followed it up with 82 in the second. His performances lifted the left-hander from outside the top 100 to joint 49th in the Test batting rankings.
