Chennai: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Monday arrested Gem Granites chairman R Veeramani, 84, in connection with the third case registered against him for abetting the suicide of a minor girl reported in 2004.
Police said 10 survivors had been identified so far in connection with the allegations. Veeramani is facing seven cases, including six child rape cases and one relating to the abetment of a minor girl’s suicide.
He was initially arrested on Aug 29 in connection with an earlier case.
