Kolkata: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education cancelled 15 candidates’ enrolment to the first part of the Higher Secondary for carrying mobiles into the exam halls. But the students may be allowed to appear for the second part of the exams after a hearing.
The third-semester tests or the first part of HS exams, which began on Sept 21, ended on Wednesday. A total of 7.2 lakh candidates appeared for the exams, with only 15,000 marked absent. Council officials said the absentees accounted for not more than 2% of the total enrollment. The council has uploaded the answer keys on its website and HS candidates can challenge them between Oct 27 and 30. The school education department on Wednesday announced 10 nominees to restructure the HS Council, which was dissolved after the BJP govt came into office in May.
