NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have submitted a status report stating that no cognizable offence is made out against chief minister Rekha Gupta in a complaint over her alleged remarks comparing state government officials to Lord Hanuman during a public programme in September, last year. However, the complainant has been given an opportunity to challenge the police’s findings before the court. The matter remains pending, and the police’s submission is the current position placed before the court.
The report was filed before a Delhi court on Thursday in response to an earlier direction seeking the police’s findings on the complaint.
