New Delhi: A supplementary chargesheet filed by Delhi Police in the death of 25-year-old Kamal Dhyani, who was killed after his motorcycle fell into a 15-foot-deep pit dug by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), has recorded the presence of alcohol in his blood sample, according to a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report.
Submitted before Judicial Magistrate Harjot Singh Aujla as part of the supplementary chargesheet, Dhyani’s blood sample contained 150.2 mg of ethyl alcohol per 100 ml of blood, according to the report. Under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act, the permissible limit for driving is 30 mg per 100 ml of blood. Police said they examined minutes of Committee of Creditors meetings of KKSPUN India Ltd held on Oct 23 and Nov 12, 2025.
Police said the investigation into the role of DJB officials is continuing and that they are awaiting an FSL physics report. The FSL report, however, does not offer any interpretation of the finding or attribute the accident to alcohol consumption. The supplementary chargesheet also details the status of the ongoing investigation. Another supplementary chargesheet is expected after those aspects of the probe are completed.
Dhyani, a private bank employee and resident of Kailashpuri, died on the intervening night of Feb 5 and 6 after his motorcycle fell into the pit at a sewer rehabilitation site in Janakpuri. His family has alleged negligence, citing the absence of adequate safety measures at the site.
