Krafton has launched the Battlin app: The wider industry impact

Krafton has launched the Battlin app. This gaming tournament platform makes competitive gaming more accessible to Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) players nationwide. The platform brings tournament discovery, registrations, scheduling, results tracking, and reward disbursement into one place, letting players participate without relying on personal connections or invitations. It also lets creators, colleges, gaming cafes, and organisations host their own competitions.

The platform’s debut tournament, Battlin Open Season 1, will feature more than 5,000 slots, a Rs 20 lakh prize pool and a BGIS slot for the winning team in one of its competition tracks. Registrations for Battlin Open Season 1 are open until November 1, 2026. The competition begins on November 2 and runs until November 29, 2026, with more than 5,000 slots across its two tracks.

The platform will host tournaments daily, according to Krafton. Battlin is launching with a BGMI-focused approach and aims to bring greater structure and transparency to grassroots esports . Battlin brings tournament discovery and registration together in one place. Players can find open tournaments, register for competitions, play matches, and track results without relying on room IDs shared through group chats or invitations from organisers. It also displays reward conditions and disbursement timelines in the app before players register, allowing participants to check the terms in advance. The platform also aims to simplify tournament management for organisers. It brings tournament creation, registration, scheduling, room management, participant notifications, results and reward disbursement into one place. Automated brackets, rooms and notifications are designed to reduce the administrative work involved in organising competitions. Individuals, gaming creators, colleges, gaming cafes and gaming organisations can use the platform to host tournaments for their communities.

Battlin launches with its first tournament, Battlin Open Season 1, which has more than 5,000 registration slots and a combined prize pool of Rs 20 lakh. The competition is divided into two tracks, with registrations open until November 1, 2026.

Krafton said it will disburse rewards through the platform rather than have individual tournament organisers handle them directly, aiming to make the process more transparent.

The Track 1 winning team will receive a Rs 5 lakh prize pool and a slot in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS). Track 2 offers a Rs 15 lakh prize pool, with its finale scheduled for November 29, when the first Battlin Open champion will be crowned.

Krafton said Battlin competitions are decided by player skill, with rewards based on results. The platform will track results and disburse rewards. Battlin is designed to give players more opportunities to move from casual gaming to organised competition. By allowing community organisers to host tournaments on the same infrastructure as official competitions, the platform aims to make participation more accessible across India. The platform does not include wagering, staking or betting mechanics. With its initial focus on BGMI, Battlin brings tournament participation, management and rewards into one platform. Krafton has positioned the launch as an effort to make organised competitive gaming easier for both players and tournament organisers to access. You use AI every day. Now get your AI Quotient.
