When Pushpa said she wanted to travel to Kota in Rajasthan, the miscreant claimed that he, too, needed to reach the same place but had been unable to get a train ticket. When she enquired, he told her that the same man had returned and taken the bag away, the complaint said. However, she was informed that tickets were unavailable. a stranger approached them and asked about their destination While the two were trying to figure out an alternative. The stranger then claimed to work at the airport and offered to arrange cheap flight tickets. He managed to convince her, booked a cab and took Pushpa and Ramesh along to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). He asked Pushpa and her brother to hand over their identity cards, claiming their photocopies were required. He then took them by bus to a location in Bagalur. The accused asked Pushpa to accompany him to the airport to book the tickets while telling Ramesh to remain near a bakery. Claiming that security checks at the airport would not permit passengers to wear jewellery, he persuaded her to remove her ornaments. She also removed the mangalya chain and bangles she was wearing and kept them in the purse. He placed her purse inside a bag he had brought and left it where Ramesh remained seated. He then took Pushpa on a bus towards the airport. Midway, he got Pushpa off the bus, claiming that his room was nearby and that he needed to collect money to book the tickets. Her brother was still sitting there, but the bag was missing. A case has been registered at Bagalur police station. Download the TOI App.
