Mangaluru: Additional Senior Civil Judge and JMFC, Puttur, Devaraj YH convicted and sentenced three men in a 2022 case involving the assault and harassment of a woman over a land dispute.
Police said the incident occurred within Puttur Rural Police Station limits on Dec 27-2022. Police registered a case under IPC Sections 447, 504, 506, 323 and 354, read with Section 34. Arun Kumar was sentenced to six months’ simple imprisonment under IPC Section 323 and two years’ simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 under Section 354. All three were sentenced to one year’s simple imprisonment each under IPC Section 506 and fined Rs 5,000 each.
