Officials said this is the first such facility in a govt hospital in Tamil Nadu. The systems are designed to improve eye-hand coordination, lower limb function, attention span, memory, reaction time, and sensory processing skills through structured and engaging training modules,” said Aravind. This training hub has been developed to provide early intervention services for children with neurodevelopmental disorders through advanced, technology-assisted methods, Dr J Ganesh, director of Institute of Social Pediatrics said. “The initiative reflects a collaborative effort to bring innovative and effective intervention services to children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, strengthening early diagnosis and therapy within the public health framework,” he adds.
Designed to make rehabilitation engaging and effective, the facility uses advanced interactive systems to help improve motor, cognitive, and sensory skills, offering new hope to families seeking affordable early intervention care. The hub has been set up under district early intervention services centre (DEIC) at the Institute of Social Pediatrics and was inaugurated by Dr A Aravind, the dean. “The centre is equipped with seven interactive systems — including interactive core training system, upper limb training system, interactive structural training and speed training system.
