In October 2021 she announced the club’s new name and a plan to build a stadium at Berkley Riverfront Park in Kansas City, Missouri. Five years after she became a founding owner, the Current won the 2025 NWSL Shield for the league’s best regular season record. Reports in 2025 also said she joined an NWSL advisory group of athletes and investors, a seat that would give her a voice on where the league heads next.
CPKC Stadium opened as the first venue built specifically for a women’s professional team. That is a rare commitment in a league where many clubs share stadiums with other teams. She brings a national audience that most expansion teams could never buy.
The 2025 Shield suggests that talk has some backing.
She has told Sports Illustrated she wants the Current to build a championship culture and set the bar for women’s sports. She also sits at the ownership table as someone who has been a player. She spent time in Iceland and at Texas at Tyler, so locker rooms are familiar ground. She is also still a regular face at Chiefs games, and fans notice her there. The difference is that game day is no longer the whole story.

She launched a fan apparel collection for Chiefs supporters, then landed the February 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover alongside Haley Cavinder, Normani and others.
Brittany Mahomes is still best known as Patrick Mahomes ‘ wife, but her résumé now says otherwise. “There’s so many different women in this space and we’re all doing our own thing,” she says. Behind those headlines sits a former college and pro soccer player who found her footing in Kansas City by building something of her own. Then she moved to Kansas City, where Patrick Mahomes was already in the Chiefs system. She earned her certification as a fitness trainer and started building a brand around it. The business side grew the same way. Mahomes frames that company simply. None of it depends on a Chiefs win.
