MUZAFFARNAGAR: A 24-year-old MBBS final-year student was found dead in her hostel room at Begrajpur Medical College in Muzaffarnagar on Monday late-night. The deceased, identified as Shagun Saini, a 2023-batch student from Kaithal district in Haryana, was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside her room. Hostel security staff grew concerned after finding the room locked from inside for a considerable time, according to police. Muzaffarnagar SP City Amrit Jain said evidence was collected at the scene and legal proceedings were underway. When they looked through a rear window, they spotted the student hanging and alerted the police. Police, senior officials and a forensic team reached the spot. The room’s door was broken open, and the body was taken down and sent for postmortem examination. The student’s family has been informed. Download the TOI App.
