Gokul celebrations

The Mushrif-led Mahayuti panel for the Kolhapur District Milk Producers’ Federation, popularly known as Gokul Dairy, won 12 seats, while the panel led by Congress leader Satej Patil secured 13 seats. His father has won six consecutive assembly elections and has been a minister for several years. We won many elections, but this one defeat we have faced.
Kolhapur : Minister for medical education and NCP leader Hasan Mushrif has described the defeat of his son and political heir Navid Mushrif in the Gokul Dairy election as a “pre-determined conspiracy”. He said the claim could be substantiated through a booth-wise analysis of the votes received by Navid. Speaking for the first time since the Gokul Dairy election, Mushrif said at a sugar factory’s crushing commencement event that his roots ran deep and he had not fallen from the sky, making it difficult for anyone to destroy him politically. It was a pre-determined conspiracy; one can sense it from the polling booth-wise numbers the candidates got,” Mushrif said. State health minister Prakash Abitkar said that overconfidence led to Mahayuti panel’s defeat. We may have taken them for granted,” he said. He also said that Patil made some statements to construct a “fake narrative”.
The result gave Patil’s panel a comfortable majority to form the board and elect its chairman. Navid Mushrif had served as chairman of the dairy during the final year of its five-year tenure. “The voters dodged us. Rajya Sabha MP Dhananjay Mahadik attributed the loss to the delay in candidate selection and less time to reach to the voters.
We will support whatever is constructive and oppose whatever is against the dairy and interest of the farmers,” Mahadik said. “We are going to sit in opposition in Gokul.
