Manoj Jarange made allegation regarding payment of Rs 500 crore to end his agitation during a Dasara rally on Tuesday
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde , speaking with reporters in New Delhi, dared Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange to prove his allegation regarding payment of Rs 500 crore to end his agitation. Talking to reporters, Shinde said no one had been paid (or had received) Rs 500 crore.
He should furnish proof to the agencies concerned and this matter should be probed,” Shinde said. Jarange also threatened to reveal the names of two former chief ministers and other senior politicians allegedly involved in a “conspiracy”. He said the Maratha community stood behind him and alleged that govt was misusing its power to target activists through cases and inquiries. Shiv Sena (UBT) politician Sanjay Raut said an FIR should be registered in connection with Jarange’s claims and the Economic Offences Wing or the Enforcement Directorate should probe the matter.
“He (Jarange) should have verified facts before speaking. He criticised Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske for cautioning him against making allegations against senior politicians. Speaking in Jalna earlier on Wednesday, Jarange said he would produce evidence during a news conference on Thursday. Jarange also responded to state industries minister Uday Samant, who had asked him to produce evidence, saying he would place the material before the public on Thursday.
