MUMBAI: Two Haryana teenagers arrested along with aggregator driver Hrithik Roshan alias Kumar (22) in connection with the firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car stayed at RR Residency, a budget hotel in Chakala area in Mumbai, from October 14 to 18 using fake identities, hotel staff said. Rehan Ansari (18) and Phool Singh (18) checked into the hotel at 11 am on October 14, using the names Ankit and Randeep, respectively, staff said. Police seized the document, along with the hotel’s booking register, on October 19. Hotel staff member Dheeraj Yadav said the teenagers left through the hotel’s rear exit at around 4.10 pm on Sunday, carrying a small bag without informing the staff that they were checking out. Yadav said the teenagers typically left the hotel around 1 pm and returned about three hours later, claiming they had gone sightseeing.

Hotel staff identified the teenagers from photographs shown to them by police but said they had not seen the third suspect at the hotel. A Crime Branch officer said the suspects had brought weapons into their hotel room. A gun accidentally discharged while they were attempting to clear a jammed bullet or test-fire it, and the bullet struck either the bed or a wall, according to the officer.

They had arrived on a yellow motorcycle and allegedly used a forged Aadhaar card to book the room. Police later found their clothes in two bags left behind in the room. Police seized CCTV footage that allegedly showed the two leaving with a blue bag containing firearms before heading towards Juhu on a motorcycle.
