The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

He said the party would strongly oppose any attempts to weaken or privatize the public sector mining giant and would not remain silent if injustice was meted out to workers. Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao asserted that the BRS would continue its fight to protect Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and safeguard the rights and welfare of coal mine workers.

Speaking at a meeting held at Telangana Bhavan with BRS MLAs, former MLAs, senior leaders from Singareni regions, and representatives of the Telangana Boggu Ghani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) on Thursday, he asked the BRS leaders to expose the irregularities in Singareni’s functioning, including issues related to tenders, declining coal production, financial management, and delays in funds due to the company.

He said that protecting the interests of the company and its workforce remains a key objective of the BRS. He directed leaders to take these issues to the public and hold the Congress govt accountable. The BRS working president also called for questioning both the Congress govt in Telangana and the BJP-led Central govt over policies affecting Singareni.

He said workers should be informed about the differences between the earlier administration’s approach and the current situation.

He asked party leaders to widely publicize initiatives such as profit-sharing, dependent employment opportunities, healthcare facilities, and welfare programs for workers’ families initiated by the BRS govt earlier.
