Aligarh : A 40-year-old confectioner died and his associate was injured after a luxury car allegedly hit his motorcycle and reversed before running over him again near Sarasoul crossing in Aligarh’s Bannadevi area on Tuesday night. Police registered a murder case after the horrific incident was partly caught on CCTV camera.
Kanhaiya, who was injured, told police that an argument broke out between them and car occupants over “excessive honking”. The white Audi car, bearing a Uttarakhand registration number, has been seized and the driver detained, according to police. The incident took place when Manoj was riding his bike towards the city after closing the shop at night, according to locals.
The driver then deliberately rammed into them from behind and ran the car over (confectioner) Manoj , he added. But, investigators are yet to establish who was behind the wheels at that time. Some locals threw bricks at the car to make it stop, but the driver allegedly sped away.
