Pilibhit : Ahead of UP assembly polls, senior Congress leader and AICC member, Kumud Gangwar, has alleged organised manipulation of electoral rolls in 127-Pilibhit assembly constituency. Citing unauthorised modifications to 13,150 electors’ particulars, he has demanded the registration of FIRs against erring district electoral officials.
Taking cognisance of the matter Thursday, DM Alok Kumar ordered police to lodge FIRs against three officials including two former SDMs /ERO (electoral registration officer) of Amaria circle, Mayank Goswami, Hemant Chaudhary and in-charge officer of VRC (voter registration centre) at Amaria, Anil Kumar. Samajwadi Party members in Pilibhit have also sent a letter to the CEC for an urgent probe. However, local police and the DM declined to share copies of the FIR, till the time of filing the report.
Meanwhile, three FIRs were lodged in Pilibhit Kotwali on Thursday evening.
