Meerut: A sprawling farm house allegedly owned by Uttarakhand minister Rekha Arya and her husband, Girdhari Lal Sahu, in Bareilly has come into focus amid the couple’s legal dispute.
Sources said construction had been stalled for months, leaving the pool dry and the flooring and boundary wall of the mansion, estimated to be worth several crores, incomplete. Rohit (only first name available), a security guard who has been on duty for nearly two months, said that neither Arya nor Sahu had visited the property during this period. The property’s ownership details were also not immediately available.
On Oct 15, Arya got an FIR registered against Sahu at Dehradun’s Cantt police station, alleging mental and physical harassment. Sahu rejected the allegations, claiming Arya has illegal assets worth over Rs 210 crore, including bungalows and factories. A video of the minister in tears also emerged. The allegations could not be independently verified by TOI .
