Nagpur: Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar on Friday accused CM Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde of pitting Marathas against OBCs to grab power and demanded an inquiry into the Rs 500-crore funding mentioned in an audio clip released by quota activist Manoj Jarange.
Wadettiwar said, “I congratulate Jarange for bringing out this audio. It also shows how BJP and Shinde-Sena are hungry for power,” he said. Attacking Mahayuti parties over the Maratha-OBC rift, he said, “Eknath bhai and Devabhau pitted Marathas against OBCs and ruined the state by fuelling unrest. Once in power, they are now locked in a tussle for the chair,” he said. Demanding a probe into the audio clip, Wadettiwar said, “Calling the clip fabricated is wrong and nobody will accept it. It also shows how money was spent to trigger unrest and quell agitations,” he said.
But one thing is clear, the rift between Mahayuti partners has reached its worst phase.
The govt is unmasked before the people.
On whether the probe should be by ED, he said the agency did not matter. If someone is being defamed, truth must come out,” he said. “There is a drought, the jobless are on the roads, exam papers are being leaked and MPSC is in a mess, but they don’t care,” he said.
“Do it through ED or CBI, but bring the facts on the table. He added the audio clip controversy was a huge distraction.
