TPCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud Urges Drought Precautions in Telangana
Mahesh Goud said AICC general secretary KC Venugopal had spoken on the phone with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and him regarding arrangements to make the rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on November 1 a success. Hyderabad : TPCC president and MLC B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Friday has called for precautionary measures to prevent drought conditions in Telangana due to the impact of El Niño. Mahesh Goud said water resources could come under pressure due to the El Niño effect and called for judicious use of water.
Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Centre should extend its cooperation in tackling the possible El Niño impact. He stressed the need for coordinated measures to protect the agriculture sector and encouraged farmers to consider alternative very low water requiring crops during the Yasangi season. He emphasised the need for collective efforts beyond political differences to address drought conditions.
He asked ministers and MLAs to coordinate efforts to mobilise large numbers of people for the rally. Leaders were advised to consult local party leaders and take appropriate decisions regarding mobilisation.
