Ahmedabad : The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) e-governance committee on Friday approved the standard operating procedure (SOP) for implementing the Ahmedabad Innovation and Startup Policy 2026 and sanctioned Rs 50 crore for its rollout during the 2026-27 financial year.
The fund has been allocated by AMC to Smart City Ahmedabad Development Ltd (SCADL), which will engage startups to develop innovative solutions for various urban challenges. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the city’s startup ecosystem while encouraging the use of technology and innovation in civic governance.
The committee also approved amendments to the Ahmedabad Innovation and Startup Policy 2026 in its first phase. Under the revised framework, AMC will support startups undertaking projects worth more than Rs 35 lakh to address a range of city-related issues.
Officials said the measures are intended to promote entrepreneurship, attract innovative enterprises, and encourage greater participation of startups in solving urban challenges. In addition to financial assistance, the policy provides for property tax relief for startups for a period of three years.
