The incident took place at a residence on 149th Street in the Jamaica neighbourhood, with emergency services arriving at around 9:38 pm following reports of a stabbing, the New York Post reported. Another neighbour, identified as 60-year-old Rosie, said she had never witnessed anything like the incident in her three decades living in the area.

The woman was within a few feet of the officers when one of them opened fire, hitting her. Officers then took the woman downstairs and performed lifesaving measures before rushing her to Jamaica Hospital. One of the injured men was also taken to the same hospital, while the other two men were transported to North Shore University Hospital. Police recovered two serrated kitchen knives at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, and officers have cordoned off the street.
