Ahmedabad: The management of Sheth CN Vidyalaya has issued a notice to the teacher accused of slapping a Class IX student, seeking an explanation for the alleged act that occurred on Oct 14. The move follows the district education officer’s (DEO) office issuing a notice in the matter.
The management is expected to consider further disciplinary action after receiving his written or oral response, sources said. The school management has also constituted an internal inquiry committee to investigate the alleged assault. The committee is scrutinising CCTV footage and other evidence to establish the sequence of events. A notice has been served on Ghanshyamsinh Dabhi, who teaches Hindi, Sanskrit and English at the school. He has been asked to explain his conduct in connection with the incident. The incident had triggered concern among parents after the teacher allegedly slapped the student over a seemingly minor issue. The episode reportedly affected the child’s mental well-being and prompted resentment among parents, raising questions about student safety and the handling of disciplinary matters on school premises.
