Kochi : Cheranellore police station witnessed dramatic scenes on Sunday night after the son and daughter of the victim staged a protest .
They said that they came to the station even before the embers of their father’s pyre had gone out, yet they found no humanity in the officers. “We will go to any extent to get justice,” they said. She added that the officers didn’t give them an answer as to why the person who killed their father was let go. The protest continued late into the night demanding action. Meanwhile, police are learned to have recovered evidence confirming that the car was speeding when the collision took place.
The siblings alleged that the person who killed their father was allowed to walk out of the police station and go home even before the police handed over their father’s body after postmortem.
“The reason is that my father runs a Thattukada while his father is a judge. Are there two ways of executing the law here?” asked the victim’s daughter.
