Kolhapur : A 29-year-old woman allegedly killed her 40-year-old ex-husband, whom she was living with and intended to remarry, by attacking him with a stone mortar while he was asleep.
A court on Monday remanded the woman in custody until Oct 29 as police investigate the motive behind the crime. “Both Vaishali and Sagar got married in 2015.
Vaishali struck Sagar on the head with a stone mortar, according to the police. The relatives advised her to approach the police, following which she surrendered,” a police officer said. She again started living with Sagar and both were planning to remarry,” Ichalkaranji police inspector Mahesh Chavan said.
The accused, Vaishali Borse, surrendered at a police station a few hours after the incident. Her husband, Sagar , worked in the water supply department of the Ichalkaranji Municipal Corporation (IMC). “She prevented their nine-year-old daughter from entering the room, then called close relatives and informed them about the crime. However, she left him a few years ago and then married some other person with whom she got separated a few months ago.
