Kochi: The ridership on Kochi Water Metro Ltd (KWML) services is steadily rising, but daily commuters, mostly techies, complain of a lack of synchronisation between the boat services and feeder buses on the crucial Vyttila–Kakkanad-Infopark route.
“In my past 15 or so journeys, only once or twice have I experienced seamless travel,” an Infopark employee, Arjun P Bhaskar, said. “Either Water Metro gets delayed, or the feeder bus is canceled, or both. Feeder buses run as if there is no timetable,” Bhaskar added. “Delays and cancellations have become the norm, especially during peak morning and evening hours. I’m a regular commuter, and the ridership in Water Metro has gone up of late. The authorities need to ensure seamless travel,” adds Bhaskar, who commutes daily from Vyttila to Kakkanad terminal by boat and then to Infopark by feeder bus.
Many Infopark employees, who earlier used to travel in their own vehicles, have shifted to water mode ever since the services have become popular.
