Ahmedabad: A confrontation over alleged sexual abuse turned violent in Jagatpur after a 12-year-old girl’s father questioned the neighbour’s family. The 42-year-old man sustained a cut on the left side of his abdomen after allegedly evading multiple knife blows.
Chandkheda police registered a complaint against the neighbour, his son and his wife over the alleged sexual abuse, assault and threats. The girl reportedly disclosed the incident after returning from school. Her father then tried to contact the boy’s mother but could not reach her.
Later that evening, the boy, his parents and sister allegedly approached the girl’s family, who were sitting near a residential block, and accused them of defaming their son. They allegedly threatened the family.
The couple were allegedly threatened with murder and told that a case under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act would be filed against them. The complainant called the emergency helpline, and an ambulance was summoned. The allegations are under investigation. The complaint does not establish the guilt of any of the accused.
