Speaking on CBS Sports’ Set Hut , Russell Wilson made it clear that he sees Kansas City as a strong landing spot for Garrett Wilson, who signed a four-year, $130 million contract extension with the Jets in July 2025. With the NFL trade deadline approaching on November 10, Russell believes the Chiefs should consider making a move for the 25-year-old receiver. The Chiefs finished with 213 total yards, while the Seahawks recorded 410, showing just how difficult the night was for Mahomes and his teammates. The quarterback struggled to get the offense moving, completing 19 of 33 passes for 165 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception.

The Jets have not announced plans to move him, and his long-term contract could make a deal difficult to complete.

I need a receiver,” Wilson said. His suggestion came after Kansas City managed just three points against Seattle, with its offense unable to find the end zone throughout the game. Russell also pointed to Mahomes’ visible reaction during the loss as a sign of how badly Kansas City needs help in its passing game. The Chiefs also failed to reach the red zone during the game. Garrett could give Kansas City another reliable option in the passing game, but a trade is far from certain.

Russell Wilson believes the Kansas City Chiefs should make a move for New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson after their 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on October 25.

The former NFL quarterback pointed to the Chiefs’ problems with catching passes and said Garrett could give Patrick Mahomes the help he needs. Wilson also noted that Mahomes looked unusually frustrated during the game, adding to concerns about the team’s passing attack.

Russell also named the San Francisco 49ers as another team that should consider pursuing the receiver before the deadline.
