Prabhakaran Thanraj will take charge of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Communications function alongside his existing role as Vice President – Marketing and Business Development, as part of an organisational restructuring. He brings experience across marketing, commercial operations and communications, along with an understanding of the media’s role in promoting and growing cricket worldwide. The move brings the organisation’s communications leadership under an executive who has experience across both the commercial and media-facing aspects of the sport.

He has previously held senior positions with the Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI ) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

The ICC has been working to expand cricket’s global reach, with communication and marketing playing an important role in engaging audiences across established and emerging markets. Thanraj’s experience with the BCCI and ACC is expected to be relevant as the governing body continues to promote the game internationally. Get the latest Sports News and Live updates.
