The fire was reported at 8.10am in Tower 3 and was brought under control by 9.20am. No injuries were reported, and there was no need for a large-scale evacuation, fire department officials and residents said.

This prompted the complex’s in-house firefighting team to rush to the spot,” said a resident. “By the time the fire brigade arrived, the situation was already being brought under control,” a resident said. Another resident said the fire was relatively small, but the smoke generated by the household articles stored in the room had raised concerns. Residents said some people on the floor moved away from the affected flat, while others made their way downstairs on their own.

The complex’s in-house emergency response team was immediately activated and managed to contain the blaze, with seven fire tenders also being deployed to douse the flames. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. “The fire broke out in one of the utility room-cum-servant quarter of a flat. The room was locked at the time and was being used to store household belongings. Security personnel posted outside the complex and residents heading out for work were the first to spot thick black smoke billowing from the room. Members of the residents’ welfare association lauded the quick response of the in-house firefighting team, which immediately began spraying water at the seat of the fire. However, there was no need for a large-scale evacuation as the blaze was contained quickly. The fire brigade reached the complex with seven fire tenders and assisted in bringing the situation under control. The incident, however, triggered concern among residents and prompted several calls from people who had heard reports of a fire at the high-rise complex.
