Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : The education department (secondary) of Beed Zilla Parishad (ZP) has issued instructions for verification of students on the student portal as part of the staff approval process for the academic year 2026-27.
Authorities said the staff approval process is in its final stages, while finalisation of data on the school portal and student portal is under way. Education officer (secondary) Priyarani Patil said centre heads must carefully scrutinise student data before approving it. “If they find students who failed Class 10 but were shown as re-admitted, or students whose names were removed long ago due to continuous absence, they should be marked for verification,” she said. Authorities have been told to ensure that no irregularity occurs while finalising the student data.
The order has been issued following cases, reports and complaints that some educational institutes enrolled bogus students to usurp govt funds and retain the posts of excess teachers. A major technical, financial and administrative scam has been alleged in Beed ZP’s school education department, with insiders accused of colluding with schools to manipulate govt portals and create fake students and schools. Notably, a principal of one of the reputed schools from Beed has been suspended with criminal action initiated against him by the authorities for allegedly inflating student enrolment and also faking three admissions of students from Uttarakhand.
