Police in Philippines investigate alleged child sexual abuse images
Thomas Markle Sr. has denied wrongdoing in relation to the allegations reported against him.
The insider reportedly said Harry and Meghan would not have received the letter in “isolation”, adding that it was the police’s “duty” to make the Palace aware of the claims and that they would have done so. Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., told The Sun last week that he had discovered a stash of child sexual abuse images allegedly belonging to their father at the property. The correspondence was allegedly written by Thomas Markle Sr.’s former wife, Roslyn Loveless, and was passed on by royal protection officers to Prince Harry and Meghan that year. At the time, the Sussexes shared an office with William and Kate, raising questions about whether the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with other members of the Royal Household, were also informed about its contents. Separately, police in the Philippines are investigating claims that suspected child sexual abuse images were found at Thomas Markle Sr.’s former home in the country. He reportedly handed the matter over to local police and the FBI. The claims have not been established, and the investigation is ongoing.
Meghan became estranged from her father in the run-up to her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry after he was found to have staged paparazzi photographs. The couple divorced in 1975, and he married Doria Ragland four years later. Thomas did not attend the ceremony, and King Charles, then the Prince of Wales, accompanied Meghan down the aisle. Her mother, Doria Ragland, was the only member of her family present at the wedding.
He was previously married to Roslyn Loveless, with whom he shares children Thomas Markle Jr. and Samantha Markle.
