Gujarat University will conduct its PhD entrance exam on Sep 26: The wider industry impact

Gujarat University, Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: A committee headed by a retired judge, constituted to investigate alleged financial irregularities involving former Gujarat University vice-chancellor Dr Neerja Gupta, has reportedly received around five applications by the Oct 30 deadline.

Meanwhile, questions have also been raised over bills and other documents reportedly being circulated from within the university daily. Whether these documents will be formally included in the committee’s investigation remains unclear. The constitution of the committee is part of the university’s efforts to examine allegations surrounding its previous administration. However, the receipt of complaints does not, by itself, establish any wrongdoing, and the allegations will need to be assessed on the basis of documentary evidence and the committee’s findings. The committee’s eventual recommendations are expected to be significant for the university administration, as well as for those seeking clarity on the allegations against the former VC.
