Kolkata: The wife of former Bengal minister Indranil Sen, Madhuchhanda, was interrogated by cops for nearly two-and-a-half hours at Lalbazar in connection with the alleged multi-crore Durga Puja pass scam case. Madhuchhanda was the president of MassArt, the organisation which organised the Puja preview show and distributed entry passes.
Indranil, now in 10-day police custody, is accused of playing a central role in an alleged network involving the illegal sale of preview passes. The interrogation follows the arrest of Indranil Sen outside the Enforcement Directorate office at the CGO Complex on Wednesday.
Sources said her signatures have been found on several key documents, and she was asked whether she had signed them on someone’s instructions. Investigators confronted Madhuchhanda with financial records, bank statements and account ledgers to examine her alleged role and trace the money trail. Another accused linked to the MassArt firm is expected to be questioned soon.
