In an interview with Shailvee Sharda , principal secretary, IT & electronics, Alok Kumar , says the city has the talent and institutional strength to build on this transition. Lucknow’s technology story is moving beyond conventional IT services, with AI, product development, digital solutions and computing infrastructure adding new dimensions to the city’s technology base. Excerpts: Lucknow is moving from being primarily an IT delivery centre to a city where companies are also developing AI products, digital solutions and new technologies. The presence of HCLTech, TCS, IBM, Deloitte, Genpact and InMobi reflects this widening technology base.
InMobi is looking at hiring around 500 specialists over the coming years. These investments, along with newer companies, are expanding the range of technology careers available in the city.
The city has strong academic institutions, skilled professionals and established healthcare and governance capabilities. These create opportunities for application-led technology, particularly in AI, GovTech and healthcare. The focus now is to connect talent and institutions with industry and emerging technology companies.
