Political parties, mass organisations, trade unions, cultural groups and students, youth and women’s organisations have extended their support to the programme, according to the organisers. Abhijit Dipke The protest, part of a nationwide campaign, will begin at 4pm. Organisers expect thousands of people to participate, transcending party-political affiliations, caste and religious differences. The organising committee has decided to focus on mobilising students, young people and women, alongside social media campaigns. The event will feature a musical performance by Thrissur-based Karinthalakoottam, a short play presented by theatre group Nattak and folk songs. Kochi : Actor Prakash Raj , CJP leader Abhijit Dipke and AISF national president Viraaj Devang will attend ‘Jantar Mantar @ Kochi’, a public gathering to protect democracy and safeguard voting rights, at Marine Drive here on Saturday. The organising committee met on Sunday and finalised plans to ensure the success of the programme.
