This initiative is important for improving medical education in the state and creating a student-friendly academic environment,” said a govt spokesperson. Lucknow: To develop a safe, transparent and student-centred academic environment in medical colleges, the medical education department has begun the process of setting up a three-tier grievance redressal system in all medical colleges of the state. The medical education department has laid down a three-level system for the disposal of complaints. “The process of keeping records of complaints, regular review and feedback will increase transparency in the system. Students will also have a clear channel and defined administrative levels for resolving their problems.
A student welfare nodal officer will be designated in each medical college, in addition to an institutional mechanism that will be developed to listen to students’ complaints and suggestions, and problems and to ensure their resolution. Under the new system, a student grievance box will be installed in the teaching campus of every medical college. Students will be able to submit through this box any problem they are facing.
