New Delhi: Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has reported an almost 80% jump in housing sales during the first seven months of FY 2026-27, aided by a series of housing schemes, discounts and measures aimed at improving access to its inventory.
In a statement issued Wednesday, DDA said it sold 9,332 flats across categories between April and Oct 2026, compared with 5,198 flats during the corresponding period of the previous financial year, an increase of 4,134 units. Last month, DDA launched Awaas Nivesh Yojana 2026, offering 1-BHK and LIG flats at a 25% discount, with prices starting at around Rs 15 lakh. The sales have already surpassed the figures achieved, or targets set, for the entire FY 2025-26,” an official said. Narela, where more than 40,000 flats were lying unsold until early last year, has emerged as the biggest contributor to DDA’s housing sales, accounting for over 90% of total sales so far this financial year, officials said. To provide additional opportunities to homebuyers, DDA has extended the booking period under the first-come, first-served (FCFS) system till Dec 31, 2026, for its ongoing housing schemes, including DDA Karmayogi Awaas Yojana 2025, DDA Karmajeevi Awaas Yojana 2026 and DDA Nagrik Awaas Yojana 2026.

“The significant growth in housing sales reflects the impact of sustained efforts by DDA, backed by the continuous monitoring by LG TS Sandhu, towards accelerating the development of Delhi’s sub-cities,” the authority said. All LIG flats were booked within two hours, prompting DDA to release additional units, according to officials. “The area is steadily developing into a preferred residential destination, supported by major infrastructure projects such as the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II), education hub and the upcoming Rithala-Narela-Kundli Metro corridor,” an official said.
Officials attributed the increase to improved sales across segments. “Not just LIG, we are seeing an increase in sales in all categories—LIG, MIG and HIG—during the first seven months of the current financial year. Officials also credited the fully online booking process through DDA Awaas Portal and the introduction of sample flats and detailed flat-wise information for helping buyers make informed decisions.
