Kanpur: A 25-year-old man was found hanging in his rented room in Senpaschim Para on Tuesday night. His friend alerted the police when he did not answer his phone.
Vishal Pandey (25), a private company employee from Dinapur in Amethi, lived in Sanjay Gupta’s house in Gopalpur for five years. Senpaschim Para inspector said further action would be taken after receiving a written complaint in the matter. Police and a forensic team collected evidence and sent the body for post-mortem examination. After receiving no response, he went to his room and found it locked from inside. On being alerted, the police reached the site and broke open the door to find Vishal’s body hanging from a ceiling fan hook with a nylon rope. Vishal is survived by his father Vinod, mother Shivkumari and brother Saurabh. Download the TOI App.
Arpit Yadav, a friend and tenant in the same house, tried to contact Vishal on his phone for some work on Tuesday night.
However, she had stopped speaking to him a month ago due to which he was depressed.
His brother Saurabh said that Vishal was in a relationship with a woman colleague for about four years.
